Julienne M. Christensen, principal
Trained in painting, sculpture and pre-law, Julie commercialized her artistic and organizational leanings into an early career in interior architecture and design. She came to California to join the San Francisco office of Skidmore Owings and Merrill and eventually opened her own design consultancy there in 1981. The new studio initially focused on the development, finishing and promotion of textiles, lighting, furniture and other architecture and design-related products.
As Northern California emerged as a hub for innovative product development and engineering, the practice expanded to include surface design strategy and execution for the high tech and consumer goods industries. Julie has worked with many of the world’s premier design consultancies and manufacturers and has contributed to the development of numerous award-winning products.
